Bali Private Driver: Your Own Car and Local Driver for the Day
Bali is a small island with big distances in practice. Temples, rice terraces, waterfalls and beaches are spread out, public transport is limited, and ride-hailing apps are not always welcome at popular spots. Hiring a Bali private driver from LUGAYA solves that: an air-conditioned car and an English-speaking local driver for up to 12 hours, at a fixed price per car. You choose the stops, the pace and when to call it a day.

What a full-day charter includes
Our standard charter is a 12-hour package. Your driver picks you up anywhere in South Bali, takes you wherever you want to go within that time, and drops you back at your hotel or villa. Fuel and parking fees are included in the per-car price shown on this page, so you are not reaching for your wallet at every car park.
Entrance tickets, meals and personal expenses are not included. On long days most guests also offer the driver lunch when they stop to eat, but the driver's meal is not included in the price and it is entirely up to you. If you need more than 12 hours, extra hours are charged at 10 percent of the day rate, so a long sunset dinner never becomes a problem.
Where you can go and how area pricing works
The base day rate covers routes around Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Sanur, Denpasar and Ubud. Many travellers want to go further, for example to Uluwatu, Nusa Dua or Tanah Lot, up to Bedugul, Kintamani or Karangasem in the east, or all the way to Lovina and Munduk in the north. For those routes we add a fixed area surcharge, listed in the fixed area surcharge table on this site, so you know the total before you confirm.
Because the surcharge is fixed by area rather than by kilometre, it is easy to plan. Tell us the furthest point of your day and we will quote the full per-car price in one message.
Planning a smart day route
The best charters follow geography rather than a wish list. Pair Ubud with Tegalalang and Tirta Empul, or Kintamani with the Mount Batur viewpoint. Combine Tanah Lot with Jatiluwih rice terraces, or Bedugul with the northern waterfalls. Trying to fit Uluwatu and Ubud into the same day usually means most of it is spent in traffic.
Start early. Leaving at seven or eight in the morning lets you reach popular sites before tour buses arrive and before the afternoon clouds roll in over the mountains. Your driver can suggest a running order, local warungs for lunch and the cleanest toilet stops, which is half the value of having a local beside you.
Choosing your car
For two to four people, an MPV such as a Xenia, Avanza, Xpander or Innova is comfortable and economical. If you want more legroom on mountain roads or have bulky bags, choose a premium SUV like the Fortuner, Pajero Sport or Innova Zenix Q. Larger families and friend groups can share a Hiace family van seating up to around 12, and the Toyota Alphard is there for a quiet, premium day.
All our cars are air-conditioned and regularly maintained, and our drivers are insured. If you are travelling with small children, tell us in advance so we can discuss seating options, but please do not assume a child seat will be available.
Booking, payment and flexibility
Booking happens on WhatsApp. Share your date, pickup address, number of people and a rough idea of where you want to go. There is no deposit. You pay by bank transfer or in cash to the driver, and you can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before pickup, which is useful when the weather or your plans change.
